CHAPTER 1

  1. These are the sayings of the living Jesus, recorded by Tomas, who is called Didymus. Whoever learns the inner meaning of these truths will live forever in the Eternal Sea.
  2. Jesus said, "Everyone who seeks should continue seeking until he finds. When he finds, he will be troubled at the contemplation of Truth, but when he has passed through the time of trouble, he will be astonished at the brightness of the Light, for the Way of Truth is the Pathway to the Eternal Godhead, and the price of the beatific vision is the wringing of the soul. The person who desires to rise above all things must descend below all things, for the way to the heights passes through the depths of anguish, which generate the fires of Life. The person who has suffered and found Life is blessed."
  3. Jesus said, "If you say that the abode of the Gods is in the sky, the birds will arrive there before you. If you say it is in the sea, the fish will arrive there before you. Know that the heavenly realm is both inside you and outside you, and you will know that which is outside by that which is inside. When you have found the Light within yourselves, you will know as you are known. Then you will know that you are the children of the Living Parents and that your destiny is to be as they are. The person who knows not himself, is poor in Spirit, for he is his own poverty."
  4. Jesus said, "Unless you become like little children, you cannot know the meaning of Life, for your minds must be cleared of the falsehoods of this realm if you are to be taught Eternal Truth."
  5. Jesus said, "I am the door; the person who enters by me will find Eternal bliss. I am the bed; the person who lies on me will enter perpetual rest. I am the Light; the person who sees by me will view all things."
  6. Jesus said, "The Way of the Prophets is a trail of tears. I have commissioned you to be prophets to this generation. Consequently, they will ridicule and revile you, saying all kinds of bad things about you. What? Don't you know that they have always rejected the prophets whom I have sent among them? Yes, I tell you the truth when I say that even those who follow the prophets do not understand them, for they speak of the things of the Spirit, which cannot be apprehended by the physical mind. The prophet is alone with the Eloheim, for of all mortals, it is he who sees the reality which he cannot convey to his people. Lonely is the Way of the prophet, but if he brings one soul one step closer to Light, all his loneliness and grief is justified, for great will be his joy in the heavenly realm, and he will become a great company at the seat of the Highest."
  7. Jesus said, "The person who stands alone will be with the Eloheim; the person who is with the Eloheim will stand alone."
  8. Jesus said, "Many of you think that I have come to establish peace in the physical realm. I will not bring peace, but dissension, fire, sword, and war. Families will be divided because of me; friends will stop associating with one another, nations will join in battle. Yes, those who would follow me must be willing to forsake everything, and to stand alone, if they would inherit the realm of my Parents."
  9. Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; the Way, because you must walk in my footsteps to reach the seat of the Eternal; the Truth, because I am the Eternal God, the Totality of All That Is; the Life, because the Tree of Life, grounded in the Earthly Mother and ascending to the Heavenly Father, is nourished in my blood."
  10. Jesus said, "Learn the meaning of the creation which surrounds you, and you will perceive the mysteries hidden from your sight, for Eternal Truth is recorded on all that exists. I tell you the truth when I say that there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed to the person who can read the creation of the Eloheim."
  11. The disciples questioned Jesus concerning the Way of Life: "How should we fast? In what manner should we pray? How should our alms be given? What dietary law should we observe?" Jesus said, "I will instruct you in all these matters, but first you must put off your love of the lie, the false way of life followed by the children of this plane of existence, and be converted, changed so that you hate that which you have previously loved, and love that which you have previously hated. Then I will be able to show you all things, for there is nothing hidden which will not be manifested when you have put on the mind of Truth."
  12. Mary of Bethany asked him, "Will the thirst for knowledge ever be quenched?" Jesus said, "When once you have drunk from the spring of knowledge, you will return again and again, for each time your thirst is satisfied, a new thirst will grow, greater than the first. The more you drink, the greater will be your desire to drink, but in the intensity of your desire, you will be filled. I tell you the truth when I say that whoever seeks will find, and the finding will cause him to seek, but in the seeking is hidden the meaning of Life."

The First Word

Jesus says this first word only in the Gospel of Luke, just after he was crucified by the soldiers on Golgotha, with the criminals, one on the right and one on the left. The timing of this suggests that Jesus asks his Father to primarily forgive his enemies - Caiaphas and the Sanhedrin; Pontius Pilate and Herod; and the soldiers who have scourged him, mocked him, tortured him, and who have just nailed him to the cross. But could this not also apply to his Apostles and companions who have deserted him, to Peter who has denied him three times, to the fickle crowd, who only days before praised him on his entrance to Jerusalem, and then days later chose him over Barabbas to be crucified? Could this not also apply to us, who daily forget him in our lives?

Does he react angrily? No, he asks his Father to forgive them, because they are ignorant! At the height of his physical suffering, his Divine love prevails and He asks His Father to forgive his enemies.

The political problem

Preachers do not want to offend their flock, for fear that there will be less cash in the till. Ministers do not want to become really good friends with church members for fear of getting strange looks from acquaintances. I can’t phone an old friend, because she won’t forgive me for an accidental offensive remark I made. What’s the point? Has life gotten that political? Seems like it.

Ya know, if Jesus was running around right now, who would He most resemble? Would he be Joel Osteen, the guy who oozes optimism and promise, with no real sacrifice? How about Mike Huckabee? Good show, seems sincere, but frankly I would be scared out of my mind if he became president. Glenn Beck? Did you know he’s Mormon? Yeah, neither did I, even though I watched his show for months.

Folks.....who are we supposed to listen to?

I’m really wondering about the election next week. I have a cousin who is deep in the political space, and she says things will get exponentially better. I just don’t believe it. The only thing that offers any success is the fact that the legislature will be a different party than the white house. Why? For some reason, looking back at history, that’s the best mix for things. They balance each other out somehow. You would think unification is useful, but it never really is.

I hate politics. As most of you can tell, I don’t really worry about what the group thinks. I just promote as much truth as I can manage. After all, I don’t have all the answers. Jesus has all the answers, but getting a clear path to Him can really take some time, so I try and speed up that process for you. That’s my politics. Fast Christ!

We don’t want you to vote a certain way next week. Use your best judgement. Just remember, the only thing that ever buoys capitalist countries are healthy private sectors. Without the economics in place, nothing gets done. We got this far by putting the power into the entrepreneurs’ hands. In America we have amazing ideas, and the resources to make them happen. We just need a government that understands that.

Results

There is a big difference between prayer and answered prayer.

Folks...every prayer is answered. If you offer up a sincere prayer, you will get a real result, every single time. No exceptions. HOWEVER...God takes your request, analyzes it, and then delivers the result that is PERFECT...which may be different than what you asked for.

Today my wife and I were at Target. While I used the restroom she was panhandled. She gave the guy a dollar because he said he needed soap. As we drove away from the store, we saw that he was not carrying a bag. HOWEVER...the proper motion had been made. A needy human reached out to my wife, and she compassionately responded. The result of "honesty" on the side of the panhandler was not even necessary. God had asked my wife to be generous, and she responded properly. So, the "result" was much different than expected, but success was still achieved.

I was asked today by a good friend to help her family deal with a depressed young man. I told her she had complete access to me. I would go where needed, I would share as much as I could, and I would provide anything required. Does the young man know what is coming? Probably not, but I'll tell you one thing...in his despair he probably asked God for some help...and here it comes, in an unlikely form.

You know folks, I have been in the miracle business for a very long time. I have been actively helping people all over the planet, and beyond, for my whole life really. And what I've noticed is that the farther people are from God, the faster He will pull them close when asked. Have you ever seen a miracle make someone's head spin? I never get tired of witnessing that.

The strength to do nothing

I volunteered at my church for four hours today. Then I laid in bed. And that was it. I was not feeling so hot, for whatever reason, so I just relaxed all day. Took a nap. Watched some basketball. That was it. And believe it or not, that was an accomplishment.

I’m kind of an antsy person. In general I enjoy going out, socializing with friends, and eating at different restaurants. Slowing down to the point where I do not do much is very hard. In a lot of ways it is a let down too. I thought throughout my younger years that my thirties would be a time of freedom. I would be able to go and do whatever I felt like doing. That dream has not come true, at least not to the extent I had hoped. But you know what? That’s okay too.

Jesus gives you the ability to reach beyond your circumstances. You can be immobilized, depressed, locked up. Jesus will still work with you. He will take your energy, your prayers, and He will distribute them perfectly. You are part of the power that runs this place, and He knows best how to use what you offer. You are a shareholder, but it is His company. He has lots of challenges, believe it or not, but with our help He always takes care of them. Always. This is how it is, and how it always will be.

God runs a zero-sum game. At the end of the day, all baskets are unloaded, all cage doors are opened, and the party-goers have feasted and gone home. What is left is absolutely nothing. What came before...was absolutely nothing. But in this perfect equation, God has produced something amazing. He has made something from nothing.....again. And we benefit from His generosity and grace. He has invited us to the dance, and if we are smart, we make sure to thank the host.

I suggest doing a boring day sometimes. Yes, I did not make a million dollars today. BUT....I helped a billion people. That kind of trade-off is a wonderful thing. And God makes sure my retirement account is full, regardless.

Realize that even when you are doing nothing, you can be working for Christ. I love knowing about this miracle. It is a miracle. It really is. This kind of gift is so under the radar, some folks never discover it. But I point it out to you because the Light of Christ burns in all kinds of ways. Even on days where you barely get out of bed.

A friend versus a friend you've had for twenty years

I sat down in my chair in math class in 7th grade. This fuzzy headed guy was sitting next to me. He looked pretty weird, but within a few days we were laughing our heads off and really enjoying our new friendship. As time went on, we started doing a bowling league together and lots of other stuff. His name is Amir Moftakhar, and 21 years later I'm about to go to his 33rd birthday party. What creates a friendship like this? God.

Amir is not a Christian. Nowhere close really. But he has typically asked me to pray about things for him. Every time I tell him that I am deep in prayer about things for him and his wife and son and parents and brother, he thanks me. He has never tried to push me away from Christianity. Usually it is me trying to push him IN to it.

Over the years, when we were younger, we had a few arguments, and one badly timed basketball court brawl. But a few months later, there we were again, hanging out and enjoying each other's company.

Now, this is not a guy that I barely talk to, or only see once a year. I usually see him in person about four or five times a year, along with several phone calls and emails. We have a genuine friendship! I always miss him and I know that he always misses me. Friends like this don't happen every day.

What does it take to create these kinds of relationships? FAITH!!! You must look at every interaction in your life as a new opportunity to create a wonderful friend. Amir appreciates my ability to do that, maybe because he does it too! We constantly look for new friends, because in this world that's all you really have. It is your friends, family, and God. That's all you can rely on. Everything else will change, but there are a few folks who will be standing around your deathbed. THOSE are the folks you need to be grateful for!

The key to the kingdom

..any guesses? Its beliefs, but not quite in the sense that you might be referencing it. The key to the kingdom is wrapped up in a conversation that my daughter and I had today. She is five years old, three months from six.

Maddy: Daddy, how do you talk to God?

Shay: He is a friend of mine. Don’t you talk to friends?

Maddy: Yeah, but I see my friends. I never see God.

Shay: That’s the best thing about Jesus. Ever since He started walking with me, I see Him all the time. When I get up, when I drive, when I work, when I play....He’s always around.

Maddy: Even though you can’t see Him?

Shay: Once you’re good friends with Him, you’ll see Him too.

Maddy: When will that happen?

Shay: In the future.

Maddy: Third grade?

My daughter is so awesome. She treats everyone very well and works at helping the world as best she can. She’s in a private Christian school. They discuss faith-based topics in class. She often comes home with questions about faith. I look at it as a great opportunity for her to start out life ahead of the game. Even if she has a different faith as an adult, or no faith, she will go through her younger years knowing that the most powerful force on Earth works on her behalf.

We live in a small house. Maybe 1500 square feet. But its on a decent sized piece of land. So we have a very large backyard. For a long time I have seen some interesting things back there, and in the house. I tell my girls, my wife and daughter, that angels hang out with us. They not only protect us, but they congregate, and they do whatever it is angels do.

I’ve been feeling the presence of angels for a long time. So much so that one of my best books is about them. I don’t talk to them, or worship them, or anything like that. But they are there, and they remind me they are there. They have put a couple things around our property to remind me that one day I’ll be working for God too, but in a different way than I do now. I don’t pledge to have all the answers, but the comfort of knowing God’s servants appreciate my family and what we do on His behalf is very gratifying.

Are you always running in crisis mode?

What’s the deal? Why do you do it? Did your own choices put you into this kind of life? Or did circumstances force it on you? Wondering how to escape? Jesus is the god of u-turns. That’s all He does! Everything about Christianity comes back to the transformation that occurs when you really start believing. I hate to break it to you, but if you’re in crisis mode 24-7, then you are missing the real joy of Christ. Cut out an hour of your day. Start there. Reserve it for more sleep or more fun. Is a relationship creating the stress? There are always other options. I have seen good marriages and I’ve seen bad. I believe in staying with your spouse till the end, but I don’t believe in constant suffering due to spousal discontent. God loves happy marriages, but He does not believe in abuse. If you are getting abused physically or emotionally....seek professional help. I love working with people who think things will not improve. They are really only experiencing an imprisoned perspective. The world has tricked them into accepting average. No one needs to be average. We can all have enjoyable lives filled with prosperity, love, and a great relationship with God. This world can produce constant win-wins! There does not HAVE to be a loser, although lots of people have become convinced of that. Interested in really turning up your success level? Interested in exiting crisis mode permanently? Start by looking through our archive. After you can see the kind of information we routinely provide, we hope that will convince you to send more people our way, so the circle of joy and success and love can continue to grow!

God's voice

No one gets it. If you think you get it, maybe you do, because without that belief, you don’t stand a chance at getting any farther.

When did I start hearing God....pretty young I guess. That’s what weekly church from age five will do. And I listened. I really did. I paid attention. I had a religious studies class. I spent good time with good people. And over time I developed what I still consider to be....a decent connection to God’s voice.

I hear Him maybe....once or twice a day. Sometimes He starts things, sometimes I do. He always speaks to me really, but I need to be able to filter out everything else in order to pick up on Him. Obviously it is easier when you’re relaxed, maybe getting ready for bed or something. But I kind of prefer to have Him just jump into my thoughts. He’s more useful that way. And that’s okay. He WANTS to be useful. He WANTS to help. He created us so the entire system can LEARN more. He might know everything already, but He still enjoys teaching His kids, as I’m sure you parents can appreciate.

Some folks just look at Him as their conscience. That’s kind of lacking, in my opinion. I guess you can do that angel/demon discussion as much as you want, but you won’t really get the real info. Debating a topic is not nearly as fun as learning how to create miracles. And somehow I’ve managed that. Through my connection to Christ I can really do some phenomenal things...because I’m not the one doing them.

Just listen carefully, folks. That’s the only instruction you need. I guess some church services and some bible study helps, but people do it without that anyway. And some are better at this than others, but the truth is that God reveals Himself to all things at all times. The only people who don’t receive Him are those who voluntarily choose not to.

I love working with Him. I really love the master/servant relationship. It works so incredibly well. How would you like to have a boss who trains you while you sleep? How would you like to have a boss who knows exactly how you feel, and then ADJUSTS the WORLD to better fit your mission. That would be....NICE....don’t you think?

God is amazing. Hearing Him can make you fall to your knees in tears some times. But you know what? The nicest thing about discussing things with God is that the dialogue never ends. And after a while you won’t want it to. Because it ends the worst pain we ever experience...and that’s loneliness.

Do you believe in luck?

I do not anymore. I believe that the events that unfold in my life are the direct result of my thoughts and actions. I believe that the timing of events that I'm involved in are a free flowing result of God's interaction in my life.

I put a lot of waves out there, meaning that I'm so active in the prayer realm, that I end up touching lots of people and intentions and connections. I just think life is best lived that way. But I also accept the push-back from the enemy. It is an obvious occurrence. When it occurs in strong fashion, it stands out more than anything else. BUT...it is also proof of my effectiveness.

If you are an active Christian, meaning that you pray a lot and share your faith a lot, you should also be getting some push-back. Love that. Accept it. And then turn up the dial even more. That's what God wants from his best servants. We are not here just to have fun. We are sent by a divine being to engage the body of evil in a very real and powerful way. Don't for a second think that non-Christians do this. It is ALL left up for us. ALL OF IT! So turn up the volume.

I am with all of you! This is not your typical prayer group. We provide a lot more than just prayer. This is a place where undeniable power flows right from the Son through the Holy Spirit and into us. You are being given free reign to effect changes that you might not have been involved with before.

Luck? Nope. You are here because God NEEDS you to be here.

Beware the jobs that pay well....but don't satisfy Christ

Some of you might have followed my job odyssey over the last two years. As you might have noticed, I was holding my opportunities to a very high standard. It took quite a while, but I learned some wonderful lessons from the experience.

Money is great! I’m interested in money generally. I feel like the more I have the more I can help. Thirty four years on this planet seems to have proven that. But the problem with that mantra is that for some people there is no way to achieve it without something I would call a “wasteful job”.

What is your most important asset? It is not your cash, and it is not your family or friends. God beats it, but not by much. Your most important asset is your time! You get a limited amount, it can be easily wasted and usually is, and there is no way to get it back once its gone. Most people waste entire decades! Hopefully I can help you avoid that.

Reaching out to people is a lost art. Having been in many different churches of different denominations, I have discovered that some churches do much more outreach than others. Why does this bother me? Well, first of all, the Internet allows quite a bit of power. When I look at these megachurches, like Rick Warren at Saddleback, and Joel Osteen’s operation, I can’t help but think they really are not working the Internet as much as they should. Let me explain my logic to you.

Do you know how much a prayer ad costs on the Internet? Either through Google, or Facebook, or now Apple? About fifteen cents. So...for fifteen cents, you can target sections of the world where Christianity is sparse. In fact, those parts of the world are even CHEAPER usually. How much did YOU spend on frivolous stuff today? More than fifteen cents probably.

Take a moment. Assess your life. Ask yourself if you are really carrying out the mission that God, and YOU, have always desired for your life. If not...it is time to start a prayer blog. The tools are free and the ads are cheap. There is no reason to delay!

Angels

Flying is so pre-birth of Christ.

How deep does it really go? Well, I’m not sure. Beyond proclaiming myself as some expert on things no one is really an expert on, all I can really say is that it is advanced.

When you are going through a busy day, and problems come up, what is your standard statement? “If I only had more hours in the day.” Well, angels DO have that.

Have you ever wanted to know what it would feel like to have a microprocessor inside your head? The most powerful computer on Earth, the one the National Security Administration uses to crack codes from all over the world, probably does not stand a chance when compared to an angel brain. Electricity and water power the human brain, but angel brains...your guess is as good as mine.

Take into account what angels need to do on any given day. They help people, sure, but there are other activities. Popular fiction loves to guess what they do, but until you’re there you probably won’t know. In my Angel Interviews book I take some shots at figuring them out, but there are no guarantees. As far as we can tell, the jobs are infinite, as is the number and type of angels. Keep in mind that only three or four are mentioned by name in the bible. In my opinion the bible would be a lot more informative if we could have gotten more details.

Sometimes when I’m driving, I see them flying next to me. I know I’m not the only one with that experience, but I never tire of it. It makes me feel better, protected I guess. Jesus in the passenger seat, angels surrounding the car. Nice way to travel.

If you were an angel, what is the first thing you would do? My questions would not stop. I would look into everything I could. They get such a great glimpse of a world we never see. It would just be nice to have such an expansive array of new things to learn and enjoy. I want to get to that point so badly, but my human life is very enjoyable, even when challenging.

I’m not so sure that angels have items or need weapons or anything. They most likely just mold this world to do what is needed. It sure would be nice to work like that. My work is all done through requests. Granted, they are always accepted and processed, but I can’t turn bricks into bread. I’m assuming that on top of moving outside of time, and being in multiple places at once, fish and wine is not much of a challenge.

Let your eyes open a little wider sometime. It can make you feel much better knowing that God’s servants are just an arms length away from strong believers.
